Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro are launching the Hama Files Editions, which will reprint key issues of Larry Hama’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.  A letter from Hama, discussing the background of the comic and offering new insights, will be included in each issue.  The first issue in the new program will be G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #26, written and penciled by Hama, inked by Steve Leialoha, and colored by George Roussos, which revealed the secret origin of Snake-Eyes and his connection to Storm Shadow.  The issue will be released on November 26, 2025, with the main cover by Mike Zeck and Bob Wiacek, a variant by Chris Mooneyham, and a foil version of the Zeck/Wiacek cover.

"Each issue of the Hama Files reprints an essential issue of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero,” Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound, said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “And inside each issue, a letter from the legendary Larry Hama, adds fresh insight and perspective to these all-time classic comics.”

In April, Skybound published a new edition of the wordless issue G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #21, which also included a new letter from Hama (see “Preview: ‘G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – Silent Missions’ One-Shots Covers”).
