The Spider-Man 2 movie will be a free premium with the first million units of the PlayStation Portable, which is shipping on March 24th.  The flick will be formatted on a universal media disc, which is a new format for the PSP.  Sony is using its ownership of the entertainment software as a way to promote interest in its hardware, a lesson it learned painfully in the Betamax era.  The PSP is Sony's new competion for Nintendo's Gameboy, which dominates the handheld gaming field.
