WizKids Games has announced it will release Rocketmen:  Axis of Evil, a new constructible strategy game based in a retro space universe, this summer. 

Beginning eight weeks before the game's release date, WizKids will debut an exclusive Rocketmen cartoon on its Website.  Eight weekly episodes will appear on the Web,  ending with a cliffhanger.  At the launch, a DVD will be released collecting the eight Web episodes along with two new ones, and exclusive Rocketmen game pieces.

The object of the game is to blow opponents up in a battle that takes place in an asteroid field.  Races will include Rebels, the all-female Mercurians, Venusians, and the Legion of Terra. 

Jordan Weisman, founder of WizKids and gaming industry veteran of 20 years, created the Rocketmen universe.  Additional design work was done by Jon Leitheusser.  Art for the game is by WizKids' Kian Ng and Shane Small. 

Rocketmen is expected to skew older and more core than the broadly distributed Pirates, due to the more complicated rules.
