Devil's Due Publishing is planning a major promotional assault to support the release of its new G.I. Joe series, G.I. Joe: America's Elite, this summer.  For retailers, there's a display contest and in-store event support.  And for consumers, there's a 'Biggest Fan' contest.  They all support the release of G.I. Joe:  America's Elite #0 ($.25 issue) in June and G.I. Joe:  America's Elite #1 in July.

On July 4th, retailers can host a G.I. Joe Day event at their stores.  Devil's Due is providing major support for these events, in the form of bag stuffers, new G.I. Joe con exclusives, signed merchandise, a G.I. Joe product pack (from DDP and other Joe licensees), a listing on its Website, special discounts on product, and the potential for photos of the day being printed in future issues of G.I. Joe.

The retailer display contest offers retailers a chance to win a DDP creator signing and pizza party, including promotion, product, and prizes, by creating the best 'DDP and G.I. Joe' display, with submissions due by June 30th and the winner to be named July 5th.

For consumers, Devil's Due is offering a one-of-a-kind lifetime subscription to G.I. Joe to the fan that proves that he/she is the biggest G.I. Joe fan out there.  Submissions for this contest will be due July 31st, with the winner announced August 8th.

The final issues of the previous G.I. Joe series from DDP have been selling out (see 'G.I. Joe Comics Sell Out') in the leadup to the new series.  A new TV series and toy line launch in September (see 'G.I. Joe Animated Series on 4Kids Block').
