Variety is reporting that Steven Paul's Crystal Sky and Sony's Screen Gems are collaborating on a live action feature film based on Namco's Tekken martial arts videogame.  Sony plans to start filming this fall with a budget of $50 million.  Tekken, which is the story of two childhood friends who enter a global martial arts contest, has inspired an anime feature film, Tekken: The Motion Picture (1998), which is distributed in the U.S. by ADV Films.

In addition to Tekken, Crystal Sky picked up the Marvel Comics-based title, Werewolf By Night, which was also in turnaround at Dimension Films.  Steven Paul will produce the film version of Werewolf By Night along with Avi Arad, but no production timetable has been announced yet.
