Monte Cook's Malhavoc Press has announced that its previously announced variant players handbook Iron Lore (see 'Iron Lore from Monte Cook') will now be released as Iron Heroes.  The change is being made due to threats of a lawsuit from software developer Iron Lore Entertainment.  Cook said he disagreed with the assertions underlying the potential suit, but was unwilling to waste the time duking it out in court.  In addition to the launch release, two other products scheduled for the fall have new names.  Mastering Iron Heroes (FKA Mastering Iron Lore) will be released in October, and Iron Heroes Bestiary (FKA Monsters of Iron Lore) will be released in January.

Malhavoc has also announced additional tie-in products produced by two licensees.  Goodman Games will release a 64-page introductory tie-in adventure for Iron Heroes titled Song of the Blade, written by Matt Sprengeler, in September, and a second Iron Heroes adventure this winter.

Magnificent Egos will produce the official miniature line for Iron Heroes, beginning with five miniatures in August.  A limited edition mini will be produced for Gencon.  All will be sculpted by Bobby Jackson and Gene Van Horne, based on designs by Kev Crossley and Jason Engle.  Additional miniatures will be released this winter.
