Atomoton's recently released Z-G, the innovative new hybrid game that utilizes both anime-inspired action figures and collectible cards, has already won a number of adherents in a very competitive gaming market.  Created by Mark Rein-Hagen, one of the founders of White Wolf, Z-G features plastic mecha toys that can be modified with assorted Z-Gear add-ons as well as all the action, excitement and collectibility of the collectible card game (see 'Z-G Combines Action Figures with CCG').  While the company has already shipped the initial elements necessary to play the game, two new products slated for November and December release will add layers of enjoyment and complexity to Z-G mecha combat.

Z-G Battlebook

The Z-G Battlebook is slated for a November release and will retail for $14.95.  This official strategy guide will give players the edge they need to dominate the competition.  The volume includes a card-by-card analysis of the basic zGear, tips on building Mode decks and figures, enhancements for extended rules games, and entire scenarios set in the Z-G universe.

Z-G Booster Boxes

In December, Atomoton will demonstrate the unique customizable and collectible nature of the Z-G game with Z-G Booster Boxes.  Each Booster Box will retail for $5.00 and will contain a randomly assorted zGear part, painted in one of three levels of rarity, as well as three new cards, one of which matches the zGear part.  There are 135 cards and 45 different pieces of zGear to collect in this first series of Booster Boxes.  Among the new parts offered are 'Sideskirt Armor' for the legs, Mandible Headgear that grapples opponents in pincers, a battle axe and a shock baton that can snap together to form a halberd, and a bayonet that can snap onto both of the new guns.  The zGear elements in the Booster Boxes allow players to customize their mechs into fighting machines that will strike fear in the hearts of their rivals.  The Z-G Booster Boxes will come packaged twelve boxes to a display.
