Urban Vision has scheduled a late October release for the Tekkaman BladeII Complete Collection DVD that includes all six episodes from the 1994 OAV series from Tatsunoko Productions. Tekkaman Blade II is all out robot fighting action that features a comely young mechanic, Yumi Francois, who must overcome her fears and gain confidence in her teammates if they have any chance to overcome the evil Radham. The Complete Collection provides the entire saga remastered in Dolby 5.1 and also includes a Special Fan Art Gallery.
Back in the 1980s Saban Entertainment produced a U.S. version of the first Tekkaman series, which was renamed Teknoman for U.S. television. The 6-episode OAV series, which is collected on the Urban Vision DVD, was produced in 1994 and benefits considerably from advances in anime technique. With character designs by Hirotoshi Sano, mechanical designs by Yashinori Sayama and Rei Nakamura, Tekkaman Blade II is a classic mecha-battling robot thriller -- and the entire three hours OAV series is now available on just one DVD, which has a very reasonable SRP of $29.98.
