MTV Networks, a division of Viacom, has acquired NeoPets Inc., the owner of the popular teen Website Neopets.com.  During the past five years membership at the Neopets site has grown from 90,000 to over 25 million.  More than 60% of the members are over 13 and they are remarkably loyal to the Website where they create and care for their 'virtual' pets -- racking up an amazing five billion page views per month.  Ownership of Neopets.com and Nick.com gives the Viacom entertainment conglomerate a strong position in online entertainment space for kids and young adults.

Wizards of the Coast has a Neopets Trading Card Game (see 'WotC Announces Neopets TCG') and Sony has released Neopets videogames.
