America Online's KOL service for kids has announced a licensing agreement with DC Comics to develop comic books based on its popular Princess Natasha 'webisode' series.  DC plans to publish a 4-issue Princess Natasha mini-series in 2006.

Developed for KOL by the Animation Collective, the Princess Natasha series has developed a large following among youngsters who followed the escapades of the series' strong heroine as she makes her way through adventures filled with action and humor battling the machinations of the evil Lubek.  A Princess Natasha comic book series could provide an entry point into the world of comics for young female readers.

KOL, which just launched a second season of ten new Princess Natasha epsodes, plans to exploit the property with a burst of corporate synergy that also includes, in addition to the DC comic books, TV exposure on the Cartoon Network, and a series of children's books from Little, Brown.
