Dark Horse Comics has announced a four-issue Aeon Flux comic book series, which will function as a prequel -- laying the foundation for the events in the live action feature film starring Charlize Theron, which opens in December.  Dark Horse will publish the first issue of Aeon Flux (cover price $2.99), which is being written by Mike Kennedy (Lone Wolf 2010) and illustrated by Timothy Green II, on August 24.  Both the Dark Horse comic book prequel and the Paramount Pictures live action movie are based on the animation that Peter Chung created for MTV's Liquid Television back in the 1990s.

Both Charlize Theron and Aeon Flux creator Peter Chung will be attending the San Diego Comic-Con International.  Peter Chung will appear on a panel with Ms. Theron on Saturday, July 16 at 11:45 am in Hall H, and he will be signing at the Dark Horse booth prior on Saturday morning prior to the Paramount Pictures/Aeon Flux panel.  Fans who attend the Paramount Pictures panel will first see a 15-minute presentation by Pablo Helman, visual effects supervisor of War of the Worlds, followed by a 45-minute panel discussing the live action Aeon Flux film, which is likely to include footage from the live action feature.
