This October Harry N. Abrams Inc. is publishing The Plucker, an illustrated novel by world-renowned dark fantasy artist Brom.  The 160-page hardcover (cover price $24.95) includes 100 full color paintings by Brom, which help to narrate a dark tale about an abandoned toy that has to safeguard a small boy from an evil spirit (The Plucker), which has been loosed upon the world. 

Brom's art should be familiar to gamers, as well as fantasy and science fiction afficionados, and movie fans may be aware of his contributions to the design of Tim Burton's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  Retailers looking for a holiday gift that should appeal to those who appreciate the gothic in art and literature shouldn't overlook Brom's The Plucker.
