WizKids Inc. has announced a licensing agreement with the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) for Race Day, a constructible strategy racing game featuring cars of 22 of the top drivers in NASCAR's NEXTEL Cup Series.  Drivers whose cars are represented in the first Race Day release include Jimmie Johnson (of the #48 Lowe's Chevrolet), Tony Stewart (and his #20 Home Depot Chevrolet), and Jeff Gordon (and his #24 DuPont Chevrolet).  In the Race Day CSG players collect and assemble their favorite cars and play against their friends and family, drafting and 'stepping on it' on the way to the checkered flag.

Race Day will be sold in Game Packs (MSRP $3.99) that contain everything two people need to get into the race: two randomly inserted constructible cars, one 'resource' card, a set of rules, a die, and a track play mate.  There will be 30 cars to collect in the first Race Day release, and each car will have its own special ability and rarity.  Players can build their car collections out of additional Game Packs, which will be available wherever trading cards are sold.  No date for the release of the Race Day CSG has been announced.

WizKids created the Constructible Strategy Game category with its popular Pirates of the Spanish Main release.  If the Race Day CSG captures enough of the stock car racing magic to interest NASCAR fans, it's potential will be huge since the audience for NASCAR is gigantic and continues to grow thanks to increased TV exposure and the geographical expansion of NASCAR tracks and races.
