At the San Diego Comic-Con Tokyopop announced its first Cine-Manga release featuring Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Tokyopop's first Buffy volume features one of the best episodes in the entire series -- the landmark 100th show entitled 'The Gift.' Using full color screen captures and manga-style word balloons the first Buffy Cine-Manga recreates one of Joss Whedon's most unforgettable and shocking episodes in which Buffy and the gang have to stave off the apocalypse as Buffy's sister Dawn becomes the focal point of evil.
Like a good DVD Tokyopop's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Cine-Manga includes a lot of extras -- features that should provide real incentives for Buffy collectors to buy the book -- including never-before-published behind-the-scenes photos, commentaries from the director and actors, excerpts from the uncut script, and blow-by-blow descriptions of the intricately designed stunts. Tokyopop's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Cine-Manga is slated for a November release.
