Electric Tiki has announced the January release of a 12-inch resin statue of Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon.  Sculpted by Rube Procopio, the fully painted figure of Flash Gordon, which looks as if it jumped right out of the Sunday comic pages circa 1934, is a limited edition production of just 500 pieces and will retail for $150.00.

Steven Sommers, the director of Van Helsing and the popular modern series of Mummy movies, has been talking about producing a new Flash Gordon epic (see 'Flash Gordon Film in the Works').  Checker has published three volumes of Alex Raymond's classic comic strip in an ongoing reprint project and Dark Horse has published 4 volumes of Mac Raboy's run on the strip.
