Accelerating a trend that it began more than a year ago, Central Park Media has announced that a number of the company's best-selling backlist releases (and collections) will be available on December 20th at prices that average about $10 per disk.  The classic anime Demon City Shinjuku, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Vampire Hunter D, Ninja Scroll) and written by Hideyuki Kikuchi (creator of Vampire Hunter D) is now available for an MSRP of just $9.95.

The four-disk Maze DVD Collection, which includes nearly 600 minutes of gender-bending comic fantasy, now has an MSRP of $39.95 with individual volumes going for $9.95.  Likewise the three-volume Legend of Himiko Collection, produced by Ouji Hiroi (creator of Sakura Wars and Virgin Fleet) will be available for an MSRP of just $29.95, with the individual volumes priced a $9.95.
