The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has announced an auction sponsored by noted novelist and comic book writer Greg Rucka, who will name a 'major' character in his new Atticus Kodiak novel, Patriot Acts, after the winner of the online auction.  The auction to win a role in Patriot Acts will go live on ebay at 2 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday October 12th and will close on Wednesday October 19th (to bid, visit  http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZcbldf ).

Rucka is an outspoken supporter of free speech with a long history of supporting the CBLDF.  He raised nearly $5,000 for the organization by auctioning off roles in his last two Queen and Country novels.  The new Atticus Kodiak novel, Patriot Acts, is due for release next year and Rucka promises, 'The winner of the auction will have a major character in the novel named after them -- this isn't a one-page walk-on, walk-off, or an 'I name a corpse after you gig,' but rather a character who will be critical to the plot and story of the novel.  No guarantees if you're a good guy, bad guy, or somewhere in between.'
