The Anime News Network is reporting that Studio Madhouse is working on a feature film featuring Yasuhiro Nightow's popular Trigun character.  Madhouse's founder Masao Maruyama told the British anime magazine Neo that a Trigun film was in the works and would be released 'in a couple of years.'  Wizard's Anime Insider has confirmed the story in its November issue.

A new Trigun film would certainly help keep the popular property going -- the original Trigun TV anime has been a staple of the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim (where it has aired countless times).  Dark Horse, which published Nightow's original Trigun manga, currently publishes the sequel, Trigun Maximum, which has proven to be almost as popular as the original.
