WizKids, the creators of the collectible miniatures game, and Riot Media Inc., the first Internet-based, all-encompassing tween boy lifestyle brand, are joining forces to create RIOT: The Collectible Card Game, which is launching in the spring of 2006 at Wal-Mart, Target and Toys R Us outlets.  A WizKids spokesman told ICv2 that 'at this time there are no plans to take the game into the hobby market or for any kind of Approved Play, though that may change after next year's test market, but we won't know until late 2006.'

Riot Media will provide marketing support for the new game on its interactive Website as well as in RIOT Magazine and RIOT Comics (launching in November).  Two of Riot Media's partners, The Robert Thorne Company, which has 15 years of experience with the mary-kateandashley brand and VPI.Net, which has created numerous online initiatives for major TV series, will also provide major marketing support for the new game.

For WizKids the RIOT CCG will be the company's third collectible card game release.  In July WizKids announced High Stakes Drifter (see 'WizKids First CCG') and followed that up in August by announcing a Battlestar Galactica CCG (see 'WizKids Plan BSG CCG').
