According to Anime News Network, anime company Geneon Entertainment has laid off 12 employees, including marketing and inventory/warehouse staff.  The layoffs are from a staff of 70.  The anime market has been challenging this year (see 'Looking for the Next Big Thing in Anime'), and this is apparently one reflection of that market condition.
