Claypool Comics is looking for support for two of its titles threatened with cancellation by Diamond Comic Distributors for falling below the required sales threshold.  Diamond has told Claypool that Deadbeats, by Richard Howell and Ricardo Villagran, and Soulsearchers, written and co-created by Peter David, will no longer be solicited by Diamond, beginning in April, unless sales can be brought up.  Claypool is appealing to retailers and consumers to up their purchases of the titles, noting that if canceled, the move 'would wipe out much of Claypool's line.'

Issues currently being solicited (Soulsearchers #76, shipping in January, and Deadbeats #76, shipping in February) are actually 'Jump In' issues, written and drawn especially for new readers.  These issues offer opportunities to introduce new readers to the series.
