A motion hearing will be held this Thursday, December 1st, on the four motions filed by Comic Book Legal Defense Fund lawyers (see 'CBLDF Files Motions in Rome Case') in the case of retailer Gordon Lee in Rome, Georgia.  Oral arguments on behalf of the motions will be made by CBLDF attorneys Alan Begner and Paul Cadle.

The case revolves around a free mature readers comic that Lee inadvertently distributed to a minor, with Lee's previous case in Rome (see 'Retailer Won Case over Evidence Return') providing a backdrop to the current events.

The CBLDF is already $40,000 into defending Lee against the charges, according to Executive Director Charles Brownstein.  'We've spent $40,000 to get this far, and it's going to get more expensive as we move ahead,' Brownstein said.  'That's why we hope that our supporters are generous....'  The CBLDF is running a number of special fundraising auctions (click here) and urging supporters to make donations (click here).
