This Sunday's prestigious New York Times Book Review includes a full-page review of Harvey Pekar's The Quitter published under DC Comics' Vertigo imprint.  Reviewer (and Spin Magazine editor) Dave Itzkoff's calls The Quitter 'Pekar's most poignant and satisfying work to date.'  Noting the autobiographical nature of Pekar's considerable body of work, the reviewer is amazed that 'Pekar was capable of holding back a story this potent for as long as he did,' and wonders 'Did he knowingly save the best for last?'

Itzkoff also singles out the artwork of Dean Haspiel for high praise, noting that the artist's 'thick angular lines perfectly capture both the young Harvey's bottled-up rage and his elder counterpart's exasperation, and whose affectionate but honest depiction of the frustrating, easily frustrated Pekar might, in time, prove to be more iconic than R. Crumb's.'

The full-page format and the review's attention-getting title, 'Street Fighting Man' should make this piece a great candidate for mounting an in-store or window display.
