Inkworks has announced that it plans to release American Pride, a commemorative sticker-card collection, on November 14th.  There are 45 images in the set, which will be packaged in five-card packs with an MSRP of $.99 pre-printed on each wrapper.  Each box will contain 48 packs.  This will be the most inexpensive product Inkworks has ever produced.

The cards, which can either be collected like trading cards or displayed as stickers, will commemorate America's heritage by picturing many symbols of the country and its history.  Each sticker-card features information and quotes that reflect on what these symbols of freedom represent.  There will be a number of subsets, including America the Beautiful, American Icons, Monuments to Freedom The Flag that we Love, and Tour America.  Among the images to be included are photos of the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate bridge, the White House, the Grand Canyon, the Jefferson Memorial, and many others.

Inkworks President Allan Caplan explained the genesis of this new project.  'We are a trading card company,' he said.  'We don't make flags, pins, or banners, but we love this country and wanted to show it through our product -- trading cards.  We hope this set will not only celebrate the spirit of the people of these United States, but also remind everyone of the importance of the freedoms, rights and opportunities that our country has to offer to all of us.'  A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Liberty Fund.

American Pride is being produced on an accelerated schedule, which will not allow it to be solicited in the normal pre-order cycle -- retailers will have to contact their distributors or Inkworks for ordering information.  Given the performance of past topical cards by other companies and the popular trend toward attaching patriotic expressions to everything moving or stationary, these are worth a look.
