Diamond Comic Distributors has begun soliciting for the supplies retailers need to mount a successful campaign around Free Comic Book Day, scheduled for May 6th.  In addition to items that have been offered for previous FCBDs, such as polo shirts, T-shirts, window clings, posters, caps, and store bags, this year two new items are available.  Thirty-nine cent Free Comic Book Day postage stamps, fully licensed by the U.S. Postal Service,  are available in sheets of 20, so every piece of first class mail can help promote the event.  And for the first time, retailers can order black babydoll FCBD t-shirts.  Free Comic Book Day comics will be offered in the February Previews.

Free Comic Book Day has grown into the largest promotional event in the comics industry, distributing around 2 million free comics every year.  ICv2 urges retailers to participate in and promote the event to the greatest degree possible.  Retailers can learn more about how to take maximum advantage of the event at a special seminar at the trade day of the New York Comic-Con, Friday, February 24th.
