Animenation is reporting that Bandai Visual has announced a new .hack anime series in Japan.  The new 26-episode series, .hack//Roots, will debut on TV Tokyo in April. 

The two previous .hack// anime series have been very popular in the U.S. (where they have been distributed by Bandai Entertainment), and the .hack//  manga and novels (published here by Tokyopop), have also been extremely well received (the #8 manga property of 2006, see 'More Manga Releases in 2006').
