Wizards of the Coast has announced a new edition of the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Game (MSRP $24.95), which will provide a comprehensive introduction to the world's most popular fantasy adventure game for players of all ages, for release this fall. 

More than 40 million people have played D&D and with TV characters such as George on Grey's Anatomy and Kari on Beauty and the Geek 2 willing to proclaim their passion for the game, interest in D&D could be reaching a new level.

The new, enhanced D&D Basic Game contains everything a beginner needs to play a game right out of the box, including double-sided map boards, new description sheets, character manuals, five easy-to-follow prefab adventures, basic rulebooks, a set of seven game dice, and sixteen pre-painted miniatures (4 heroes and 12 monsters) from the popular D&D Miniatures Game.
