Toynami's 2006 offerings include Naruto Statues, Inuyasha and Chobits action figures, Voltron and Macross transforming toys all based on anime and manga characters plus a number of dolls with Gothic overtones including Emily the Strange, Precious Miseries, and Skelanimals.

Naruto

Toynami's series of Naruto polystone resin statues range in price from $50 to $175 and feature key characters from the popular manga and anime series doing what they do best.  First out will be the Naruto Shadow Clone Jutsu Statue, followed by the Kakashi Lighting Blade Statue, the Sasuke Demond Wind Shuriken Statue and the Sakura Statue, all of which are limited to 2,000 pieces.

Toynami is also producing a colorful set of polystone Naruto (and Inuyasha) bookends, which are the perfect size for manga collections and should retail for $175.

The final two figures in Series 5 of Toynami's Inuyasha Action Figures, Koga and Kagura, should ship in July, while the amazing 12-inch Inuyasha Collector's Edition Doll (limited to 5,000 pieces) will hit retail in March.

Series 5 will mark the end of Toynami's Inuyasha Action Figures and the company will also end its popular line of Chobits figures with an actual size Talking Sumomo Action Figure, which will spout six key phrases from the anime and retail for $14.99.

Macross

Macross

While Toynami's line of highly collectible 1/55 scale Robotech transforming toys has been completed (and completely sold out), the company is readying a new line of 1/100 scale transforming Macross Fighters, which will retail for $20 to $25, feature 20-30 points of articulation, and transform into 3 different modes.  Six Macross skus should ship in 2006, the VF-1A Max, the VF-1A Hikaru, and the VF-1S Roy in July and the VF-1J Max, VF-1J Milia, and the VF-1J Hikaru in the fall.

Hikaru

Toynami is also planning to release 12-inch Macross Dolls (MSRP $79.95) wearing cloth jump suits and equipped with metal dog tags.  The first two figures in the series, Hikaru Ichijo and Max Jenius should be available in the fall.

Toynami's other key transforming toy, the $150 Voltron figure will be back in stock this summer.  The first 5,000 of the limited edition of 15,000 shipped in 2005 and have sold out, but Voltron will return in 2006 before the leaves turn.

Goth Toys

Retailers who sell Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Lenore, or any of the other classic Slave Labor Gothic graphic novels should seriously consider stocking Toynami's line of Gothic figures -- and if you can sell Dark Horse's Emily the Strange products you can certainly move Toynami's Emily the Strange dolls and figures.  In 2006 Toynami has a new series of Emily the Strange Patchwork Cats, three all-new 'retro' Cat-in-the-Box toys, and a wonderful Emily the Strange Bendy Figure.

In addition to the Emily the Strange items, Toynami also has a line of Precious Miseries Plush Dolls aimed directly at the 'Goth' consumer as are Toynami's Skelanimals, a series of plush figures sold under the slogan, 'Dead animals need love too.'
