Akitaroh Daichi, the director of Fruits Basket, directed the 45-minute OAV, which follows the behind-the-anime adventures of the cute and ambitious Kuromi who is more determined than ever to make it in the anime business.  But when her boss quits smoking just as the deadlines hit, she finds she has to overcome almost insurmountable obstacles to keep the production on track.

The CPM Animation Kuromi DVD contains a number of extras, including an alternate angle storyboard feature, an interview with creator Akitaroh Daichi, a 'Day in the Life of Kuromi' featurette, a sketch gallery, and the original Japanese trailer.
