Known for its high-end reproductions of movie props, Master Replicas is expanding its offerings for 2006 thanks to an agreement with the Disney Studio, which has resulted in a number of Pirates of the Caribbean and classic Disney character items. High-end replicas for Pirates of the Caribbean include Jack Sparrow's Sword (MSRP $249), Flintlock (MSRP $249), and Compass ($199), all of which should be out in time to catch some of the buzz created by the release of the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest film this summer. In addition to its high-end Pirates offerings, Master Replica also has a Pirates of the Caribbean Ring, a PotC Necklace, and a PotC Key, each of which comes packaged on a blister card and has an MSRP of $15.
In the third quarter, Master Replicas plans to release a series of large (2 feet tall) maquettes of classic Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, and Tinkerbelle, all of which will have an MSRP of $199. These Disney 'big' figures should find favor with Disney collectors.
Master Replicas is also importing (from Japan) the Medicom Rocketeer Figure (MSRP $149) as well as a Jack Skellington figure from Nightmare Before Christmas.
Star Wars
In addition to studio quality models of the Y-Wing Fighter (MSRP $800) and the Millennium Falcon (MSRP $2200), Master Replicas also has at least three different versions of a number of Star Wars lightsabers. The lowest priced FX line, which has an MSRP of $119 and actually lights up, would be the most likely choice for most retailers, while the Collector's Edition (MSRP $199) and the Limited Edition (MSRP $369) Lightsaber Handles should appeal to those shops that cater to well-heeled collectors of movie memorabilia. Master Replicas has a number of different Lightsabers available in each price range, each of which is based on the weapon used by a particular character (Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, etc.). The long-awaited Double-Bladed Darth Maul FX Lightsaber (MSRP $199) ships in May.
Marvel
Master Replicas has also acquired a Marvel license and plans to release a Marvel Poker Set (MSRP $90), and is experimenting with a life-size Spider-Man Mask Replica.
