The Penny Arcade Vol. 1: Attack of the Bacon Robots graphic novel from Dark Horse, based on the popular gaming geek chic Webcomic, has sold out and gone back to press, according to Dark Horse Director of Marketing Dirk Woods. Although initial orders were only around 5,000 copies, the book quickly sold out its 30,000 print run shortly after its release in January.
Dark Horse promoted the release of the trade paperback with an inexpensive sample comic (see 'Dark Horse Plans 25 Cent Penny Arcade'). Also driving sales is the popularity of the Webcomic, which is on one of the most-trafficked sites of its type.
