Days of Wonder plans to expand the distribution of its DVD of game demos, which has proven a useful selling tool at both the trade and consumer level.  The disc was originally distributed in the package for the Ticket to Ride computer game (see 'Ticket to Ride Available for Mac and PC'), and distributed one per retailer via game distributors.  The 200 Days of Wonder demo volunteers also have the discs.  Retailers that ran the DVD in their stores reported an almost immediate impact on sales of the products demoed on the disc.

Now Days of Wonder plans to create retail displays of 25-50 thin-packed demo DVDs, which will be made available to retailers free with purchase.  Ticket to Ride Marklin, due out in April (see 'Ticket To Ride Marklin Edition'), will also include the disc.  The new disc will be updated to include demos of Ticket to Ride Marklin and Cleopatra and the Society of Architects (see 'A Board Game with a Moral Dimension').

Meanwhile, Days of Wonder has announced that sales on the Ticket to Ride boardgame series have hit 500,000 copies worldwide.
