According to The Hollywood Reporter Columbia Pictures has tapped director Gabriele Muccino to direct Will Smith in the dark superhero drama, Tonight, He Comes, which should start shooting early in 2007.  Muccino is currently putting the finishing touches on Happyness, which also stars Will Smith and is slated to debut on December 15th. 

Tonight, He Comes is based on a legendary unproduced script by Vincent Ngo about a tortured superhero who crash lands in Brooklyn and is attracted to an alluring housewife. Unlike most superhero projects Tonight, He Comes is not based on a comic book or graphic novel (see 'Who Needs Comic Books').
