Arcana Studio has announced that it will bring back and conclude the Dragon's Lair comic series originally started by MV Creations in 2003, launching in July. The first three issues of the planned six-issue series were the only ones to see print, and those will be collected and re-released in a triple-sized first issue, cover-priced at $4.95, with a new cover by animation legend and Dragon's Lair creator Don Bluth.
The original creative team will then produce the final three issues, starring the bumbling, yet heroic knight, Dirk the Daring, to complete the original storyline.
The first Dragon's Lair video game was created in 1983 by Don Bluth, who was also involved in creating the popular sequel, Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp. Both are still available and can be played, or watched as a short film, on DVD or on a PC. The property also spawned a short-lived animated TV show in the 80s.
