A date has been set for the new arraignment of Gordon Lee, the Rome, Georgia comic retailer who has been embroiled in the case of Georgia v. Gordon Lee for the past year and a half.  Lee was set to go to trial in April when prosecutors dropped the charges against him and drew up new charges, apparently based on facts they discovered on the eve of trial (see 'Charges Against Gordon Lee Dismissed').

The charges revolve around the accidental distribution of Alternative Comics #2, which features a scene that briefly depicts Pablo Picasso in the nude in his studio, to a minor.  Lee was originally charged with two felonies and five misdemenors; Comic Book Legal Defense Fund lawyers have successfully whittled the charges down to the two remaining misdemeanors via judicial rulings based on their objections.

The CBLDF has spent nearly $60,000 to defend the case to date.
