Sony's Underworld: Evolution topped the DVD sales charts for the week ending June 11th by a margin of almost 3-1 over the second place film, the Harrison Ford thriller Firewall.  Interestingly enough, Firewall topped the rental charts, a clear indication that genre films like the stylish Underworld: Evolution have fans who want to 'own,' not just rent their favorite films.

Underworld: Evolution, which earned over $62 million at the box office and topped the charts on its opening weekend (see 'Vampire Sequel Doesn't Suck'), actually performed better than the first Underworld film, which inspired a lawsuit from game publisher White Wolf and author Nancy Collins over similarities between the film and scenarios written for White Wolf's Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse as well as Ms. Collins' story 'Love of Monsters,' which was set in White Wolf's World of Darkness (see 'White Wolf & Nancy Collins Sue Sony').
