In November Del Rey plans to publish its first manga-related reference book, the Tsubasa Character Guide ($10.95), which provides loads of information about the popular 'crossover' manga series from Clamp. The Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles manga is the ideal subject for a companion volume since its complex plot involves lots of cross-dimensional traveling to many different 'worlds' populated by characters from such Clamp manga series as Cardcaptor Sakura, RG Veda, Magic Knight Rayearth, XXXholic, Chobits, X1999, Angelic Layer and Miyuki-chan in Wonderland.
The Tsubasa Character Guide includes a detailed summary of the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles storyline through Volume #7, character biographies for the myriad denizens of the various worlds, a 'world guide' with detailed descriptions of each of the worlds visited in the first seven volumes, a character battle strength report, fan poll results from Japanese readers, an advice column in which Tsubasa characters answer questions from Japanese fans, Tsubasa tribute art from Oh!Great and Kazuki Yamamoto, character concept sketches, storyboard planning sketches, and an exclusive interview with Clamp member Ageha Ohkawa.
Given that the fourteenth volume in this series came out in Japan this past April, it appears that a second volume of the Tsubasa Character Guide covering volumes 8-14 of the manga series would be a natural extension of this very popular franchise. ICv2 rated Clamp's Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles manga series as the 6th most popular Manga Property in the North American market in the recently published Retailers Guide to Anime/Manga #15 and the property should gain even more visibility when FUNimation releases the Tsubasa Chronicles anime series here in the States.
