The SCI FI Channel has ordered 22 episodes of the live action Painkiller Jane based on the character created by Joe Quesada (now Marvel EIC) and Jimmy Palmiotti and first published by Event Comics.  The series will debut on the SCI FI Channel in January of 2007.  The popular cable network aired a Painkiller Jane TV movie/pilot (see 'Painkiller Jane Set for SCI FI') last December.

Although the cast for the new series is not yet set (Emmanuelle Vaugier starred in the pilot), production is slated to begin at Vancouver's Insight Studios next month.  Dynamite Entertainment revived the Painkiller Jane character in comics (see 'Painkiller Jane Returns to Comics') -- two issues of the new Dynamite comic have appeared and a third should be out soon.
