According to the Hollywood Reporter Zack Snyder, who directed the forthcoming adaptation of Frank Miller's 300, has signed to helm an adaptation of the cult comic book Cobalt 60.  Created by underground legend Vaughn Bode in 1968, Cobalt 60 was revived by Bode's son Mark in a series of adventures (plotted by Larry Todd) that were published in Marvel's Epic Illustrated.

Universal is behind the Cobalt 60 project and producer Dylan Clark is currently looking for a writer for the project.  Zack Snyder, who had his directorial breakthrough in 2004 with a remake of Dawn of the Dead, has also signed on to direct an adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's Watchmen for Warner Bros.
