Top Cow has announced a major intra-company crossover event planned for the summer of 2007 and focusing primarily on Witchblade and The Darkness.  Ron Marz is writing the crossover, which is entitled First Born and is the natural outgrowth of what is happening in the on-going Witchblade series as the original Witchblade heroine, Sara Pezzini, discovers that she is pregnant and plans to relinquish the Witchblade itself.

Stjepan Sejic, whose digitally painted art will be on display in upcoming issues of Witchblade, will illustrate the First Born crossover saga, which will consist of a 'First Look' preview book scheduled for June and will be followed immediately by a self-contained, three-issue mini-series in July.  Unlike many action-packed comic book crossovers that feature dozens of heroes, Top Cow is attempting to produce a character-driven narrative that will in the words of Managing Editor Rob Levin, 'tell a complete story in three issues that serves as both an introduction to our world for new readers, as well as delivering an event that will resonate with long-time fans and shape future storylines.'
