Ed Sherman of Rising Sun Creations in San Diego saw the news that WizKids had made a deal for exclusive distribution through Diamond and Alliance (see 'WizKids Goes Exclusive'), and doesn't like the way his year is starting:

Great!  What a way to start the New Year!  Good job WizKids!  Good deal for you and Diamond, lousy deal for retailers.

I have been getting my WizKids products from a local small distributor here in San Diego and everything has been great.  I get the product sooner from him than I could from Diamond.  Oh, and did I mention the fact that he delivered the product free directly to my two stores exactly when I needed it?

Now I will get my WizKids product a minimum of one week after the mass market has received it, maybe longer.  And I would imagine there will be allocations as well.  I will now have to pay shipping on WizKids products as well.  And if I sell out of Wizkids products this week, I will have to wait until next week to get more from Diamond, if they actually have any.  Great!

Now what can I find to replace WizKids products after my WizKids sales are destroyed...
