Andy Battaglia of Comics Etc. of Rochester, NY saw the news about WizKids OP prizes offered through Diamond/Alliance (see 'WizKids' 'Coming of Galactus' Events') and shares his views:

WizKids prize support for HorrorClix continues to be disappointing. Cards and pogs are not viewed as prizes by the players and even though retailers are able to purchase LE figures as additional prizes (I can't really call this support when I have to pay for it), the LE's are too few and far between.

With the first HorrorClix set there were four LE's available to purchase. These four LE's were somehow supposed to last through four months of events. It doesn't work. By the third month, the envoys and players didn't even want anymore of the LE's even though they receive them free from my store. They had them and weren't interested in any more of the same figures. For some reason, this doesn't faze the current management of WizKids who have adopted the same failed policies of the previous management. Put this together with the new monopoly that greatly reduces access to WizKids product and the smell of doom gets even stronger.

I have a question for WizKids management. Neither Diamond nor Alliance take aggressive stances towards maintaining an inventory of any game products. Last summer I had to find secondary distributors from which I acquired WizKids product because the big two didn't have anything in stock. What do I do the next time this happens? The only solution I see is to put my money into other products.  Thank you WizKids and Topps for another nail in the coffin of the game industry.
