Futurama will end its run on Comedy Central after its seventh season, which launches June 19th, according to Deadline. That will put the series at 140 episodes, 52 of which first aired on Comedy Central.
Originally a Fox animated series, the show was first canceled in 2003 after 72 episodes, but popular demand, DVD sales, and the success of reruns on Comedy Central led to the production of new episodes beginning in 2007, and regular new episodes beginning in 2010 (see "'Futurama' Returns").
