One-time Marvel Publisher Bill Jemas is back in the comics biz, at Take Two Interactive, video game publisher of Grand Theft Auto, Bioshock, and many other games. "I am working at Take Two, helping to start up a graphic fiction imprint," he told ICv2. "So far we’ve been having a lot of fun with the stories."
Jemas ran Marvel’s publishing operation for four years in the early 00s, leaving the company in February of 2004. He brought in Joe Quesada as editor-in-chief, which proved to be a great move for the company, and the stock price improved dramatically during his tenure. But there was also controversy, and occasional conflict (see "Marvel's Version of 'Kill Bill'").
Jemas co-founded 360ep, an entertainment property management firm that dabbled in comics (see "The Seven-Cent Solution"). He was also involved with Alloy Inc., parent of Alloy Entertainment (Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, see "Bill Jemas Joins Alloy").
"I’m very hopeful, somewhat confident, that we’ll be able make the business succeed," Jemas said of his new gig.
