New York Comic Con News: Kodansha USA announced four new series that will debut in 2015, including a new Fairy Tail spin off, a sci-fi series by Gantz creator Hiroya Oku, and a new CLAMP Tsubasa story.
Fairy Tail: Blue Mistral, by Rui Watanabe, tells the story of fan-favorite Fairy Tail guild member Wendy Marvell, chronicling her life before she joined Fairy Tail. The popular adventure manga series is currently ranked at #8 on ICv2’s Top Manga Properties list (see "Top 25 Manga Properties--Spring 2014").
Inuyashiki is a sci-fi series by Gantz creator Hiroya Oku. Inuyashiki’s family doesn’t notice him, and when he finds out he has three months to live, he realizes no one will miss him but the dog. But then aliens accidently kill him, and when they reconstruct him, he’s not quite human.
CLAMP returns to one of their most popular series with Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE, a tie-in story that shows another side of the recent xxxHOLic: Rei.
Kodansha will also release Ayu Watanabe’s shojo romance L-DK. The title, which is actually read “L(heart)DK” is a play on the abbreviation "LDK," which is used in Japanese apartment ads as shorthand for "living room, dining room, kitchen." The story follows Aoi Nishimori, a high school girl who finds herself sharing a small apartment with the school prince Shusei Kugayama after her apartment burns down.
