The first cast members for Cobalt (the working title for the companion series for The Walking Dead) have been announced, according to Deadline. The series is set in the world of The Walking Dead in a different geographic location from the core series.
Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) will play the ambitious daughter of a female guidance counselor, one of two major characters in the series (the other is a male divorced teacher).
Adam Davidson (Hell on Wheels, Community) will direct the pilot, which AMC announced it had ordered in September (see "'The Walking Dead' Companion Series Gets Pilot Order").
Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) will play the guidance counselor's son, who’s battled a drug problem.
