R&R Games has announced another new game scheduled to release at the Essen Fair in October: Coal Baron. This will be the English-language title for Eggertspiel’s Glock Auf. It was created by the popular game design partnership of Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling (The Palaces of Carrara, Tikal, Torres).
Coal Baron is set in the early part of the Twentieth Century. Two to four players assume the role of coal mine owners trying to fill contracts for various grades of coal. The players must invest in mining equipment and strategically expand their mining operations to fulfill their customers’ needs. The game features elements of financial management and worker placement.
Coal Baron is scheduled to release in October. The suggested retail price will be $44.95.
R&R Games is planning a crop of new releases for the fourth quarter, (see "'New Haven' Board Game" and "'Plunder' & 'Unnatural Selection'").
