Flying Frog Productions has created a deck-building style game set in its A Touch of Evil setting. A Touch of Evil: Dark Gothic is scheduled to release in June.
In Dark Gothic, the players assume the role of monster-hunting heroes at the dawn of the 19th Century. In this semi-cooperative game, the players must work together to defeat a group of monsters intent on destroying the town; but the game only has a single winner, so the players must compete to be the most effective monster hunter.
As a deck-building game, each player will develop their own decks during play, using the game’s three currencies (combat, cunning, and spirit) to purchase cards from a common tableau. Players must also try to avoid collecting the "Dark Secret" cards which award penalty points at the end of the game, or trigger negative in-game effects for all players.
The suggested retail price for Dark Gothic will be $39.95.
