Steve Jackson Games has announced its October releases: Car Wars Classic, Tile Chess and the Revolution! Anarchy expansion.

Car Wars Classic is a return to the original version of the game, designed back in 1981 by Chad Irby and Steve Jackson.  Steve Jackson recently announced a line editor for the new version of the game (see "The Return of 'Car Wars'"), so the re-release of the original is probably a precursor.  Players travel the highways of the future, where the right of way goes to the biggest guns.  Drivers choose their vehicles, customizing them with different bodies, weapons, armor, power plants, and suspension and take to the road.  If the vehicles survive, drivers can earn money to improve them.  There are also advanced rules for players to design their own customized cars, trucks and cycles.  The game is for players 10 and up, can be played by any number of players (though 2 -8 players work best), and plays in 30 minutes.

The box includes 103 full-color game counters and separate Turning Key, a 2-sided game map with autoduel arena and raceway, and a 64-page rulebook with extra tables and record sheets.

Revolution! Anarchy is an expansion for the political bluffing and deduction game Revolution!, designed by Philip duBarry.  The Anarchy expansion includes a new board overlay, new bidding boards, and two new sets of player components which allow for up to six players.  As an expansion, it requires the base game to play.  The base game is for 2-4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in an hour.

Fans of Knightmare Chess (see "'Mars Attacks: Dice Game,' 'Munchkin Legends 3: Myth Prints,' More") may also enjoy this variation on the classic. Tile Chess is chess without the board. Instead, players use tiles which represent chess pieces, and connect the tiles to create the board.  While the original Tile Chess published in 1999 boasted up to six players, this reprint recommends only "up to three opponents."
