British tabletop game publisher Cubicle 7 Entertainment announced that it has been acquired by management and has left the Rebellion group of companies. Cubicle 7’s current release schedule, licenses, Kickstarters and customer pre-orders will be unaffected by the change.
The management buyout was led by Cubicle 7 CEO Dominic McDowall. “I’m excited to be taking Cubicle 7 into its next phase of development,” McDowall said. “Rebellion’s investment and mentoring has given us a great start, and now we’re ready to go it alone. I’d like to thank Chris and Jason Kingsley and everyone else at Rebellion for their invaluable support, advice and inspiration.”
Cubicle 7 was acquired by Rebellion in 2009 (see "Cubicle 7 in Rebellion"). At the time, Rebellion also owned tabletop game publisher Mongoose, which left the group in 2010 (see "Mongoose Leaves Rebellion").
Cubicle 7 publishes the Doctor Who Card Game, Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space RPG, Lord of the Rings RPG: The One Ring (see "'Doctor Who Card Game' 2E"), the Lone Wolf Adventure Game (see "'Lone Wolf Adventure Game''") and many others.
